Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 10, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how NoteMar handles information when you use the app. NoteMar is designed as a local-first Markdown notes app.
NoteMar does not require an account, does not operate a backend service, and does not intentionally collect, sell, or share your personal data.
Information You Create in the App
Notes you create in NoteMar are saved as Markdown files in the app's local documents storage on your device. The content of your notes may include personal information if you choose to write it there.
NoteMar does not upload your notes to a server controlled by us. Your device operating system, backup provider, or file synchronization tools may handle local app data according to their own settings and privacy policies.
App Preferences
NoteMar stores simple app preferences locally, such as your selected theme mode. These preferences are used only to make the app work the way you expect on your device.
External Links
If you tap a link inside a note, NoteMar may open that link in your device's external browser or another installed app. The website or app you open may collect information according to its own privacy policy. NoteMar does not control those third-party services.
Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking
NoteMar does not include third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking tools. We do not use the app to profile you or show targeted advertising.
Permissions
NoteMar uses local app storage to save and read your notes. It does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, precise location, or photos for its core note-taking features.
Children's Privacy
NoteMar is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because notes are stored locally, parents or guardians should supervise how children use the app and what they write in their notes.
Data Retention and Deletion
Your notes remain on your device until you delete them in the app, uninstall the app, clear app data, or remove them through your device or backup tools. Deleting a note in NoteMar removes the corresponding local Markdown file from the app's notes storage.
Security
NoteMar relies on your device and operating system protections to help keep local app data secure. You are responsible for protecting access to your device, backups, and any synchronized copies of your data.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app changes or when legal, platform, or operational requirements change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when the policy was most recently revised.
